David P. Redmond was born and raised in Mineola, NY as a multi-generational descendent from Polish and Irish immigrants fleeing oppression.
As a son of two baby boomers, Kelly and David, his grandfathers served in World War II for the United States of America Army and Navy respectively, narrowly surviving both theaters of war. After graduating Chaminade High School, inspired by his maternal grandmother’s brother, who worked on the lunar module right here on Long Island, he studied Electrical Engineering throughout several years, for both undergrad and graduate studies, while also working a diverse set of projects and responsibilities in varying roles along the way.
Providing self-taught technology and design services as an entrepreneur from an early age, he has also served over a decade as a New York State certified first responder, being a Volunteer Firefighter for the Mineola Fire Department.
David has also served his community by coaching within the Nassau County Police Activity League and advising the board of the Mineola, Williston Park, Roslyn unit. David joined the Knights of Columbus Corpus Christi Council after advancing his education and was soon asked to join its Board. He was also recently elected to the officer position of Advocate.
His father, along with numerous family friends and neighbors, were 9/11 rescue and recovery workers, whose consistent leadership and role model examples throughout his youth still motivate him today to help contribute towards a better world.
David is now seeking to further expand his role and service to the Long Island community as a candidate for Town Clerk of North Hempstead. This logical next step in service follows the great footsteps of former clerk John S. DaVanzo, a well revered figure in our community.
